The holiday season is here and it’s time to get cracking on your Christmas list. You may have already crossed a few people off your list, but now you’re wondering what to do about that last person – the creative entrepreneur one. What do you get for your artsy sister with an Etsy shop or the friend who just launched their business? You get them something to show them you believe in their career and want them to succeed with the right tools. Below, I’ve rounded up the best gifts for creative entrepreneurs, so you can check them off your list and rest easy come December 25th.
Camera Strap – Chances are, the person you’re shopping for either owns a photography business or at least uses a camera in some aspect for their business (ie. product photography, travel photos, or blogging in general.) So why not help them accessorize the tech they’ve already got with a beautifully embroidered camera strap? Embroidery is huge right now and even better when you purchase from Hiptipico, you’re giving back to the female artisans from Guatemala.
iPhone X case – I’m only slightly obsessed with Rifle Paper Co (read: very) so obviously I’m gonna recommend one of their phone cases to adorn the phone of the one who knows how to rock an Insta bio and all the new iPhone X tricks. This case is both slim and durable, so it’s protective without it looking like some military grade sorcery.
iPhone Tripod – You know what’s a useful tool for content creation? Tripods and they make them for iPhones. They’re very useful for filming vlogs and live videos. This one is Bluetooth activated and is compatible with GoPros and cameras.
Voluspa Candle – In order for me to write anything – website copy, blog posts, newsletters, or the novel I’ve got in the works, I need to have a candle burning away at my desk. My favorite is the Goji Tarocco Orange Voluspa Candle. The jar is beautiful and its smell keeps me focused while I’m cranking out work.
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert – When in doubt, get them a book and write something thoughtful on the title page. There are plenty of books out there on business strategies or ways to inspire creatives, but this one is probably one of my favorites. Her chapter on riding with fear in the car is spot on and really anyone should read it. Your grandmother should read this book too.
Kate Spade Business Card Holder – Networking is a big thing for creative entrepreneurs. When they’re not in the office, they’re working it at conferences, workshops, and local community events.
Happy Planner – I was gifted the Happy Planner 365 at the Yellow Conference and immediately fell in love. The pages are weekly columns divided into three rows for morning, afternoon, and evening. It makes for scheduling client work, business administration, content creation, meetings, side projects, and events a sitch.
Field Notes Book – Every creative entrepreneur needs a journal. I carry one (jk, more like five) everywhere I go. Whoever you gift it to can fill the pages up with notes, ideas, stories, sketches, or whatever inspires them. This one is a fun vintage flair to it that is sure to be enjoyed.
Dubsado – If your giftee just set up their business and is serious about getting their client work, leads, invoices, proposals and all that jazz organized in one great customer relationship management system (CRM) then might I suggest Dubsado? I use it for my copywriting business and it has certainly streamlined the business process. Use code “SHANNON” for a discount if you’re interested.
The Gift of Words– If you really want to show your appreciation for the entrepreneur in your life (and that could be you), give them the gift of words for their website. Hiring a copywriter to come on in and write their about page, services, product, or pricing page is the perfect way for them to commit to their business goals for the new year and focus on their own creative work rather than staring at the blank screen and hoping the perfect bio comes out of it. Contact me and I can make the creative entrepreneur’s site come to life with the perfect words.
